Groupe Partouche sales up by more than 15% in the first half of 2023
Good news for the Partouche casino group! As well as recording an increase in attendance, France’s number two entertainment group saw its sales rise by 15.2% in the first half of the 2022-2023 financial year, compared with the same period the previous year. Net gaming revenue (NGR), meanwhile, grew by 14.8%.
One year after the Covid restrictions, Partouche’s results are upbeat.
Partouche, Barrière’s eternal rival, saw its sales climb by more than 15% in the first half of 2022-2023 compared with the first six months of its previous financial year – slightly less than the increase achieved by SBM over the last full year. At that time, Partouche casinos were affected by the Covid-19 restrictions, notably the much-criticized “vaccination pass”. ” This tool discouraged many of our customers “says Partouche in a recent press release.
In concrete terms, from November 2022 to April 2023, sales for France’s second-largest casino operator reached 215.6 million euros, compared with 187.2 million euros year-on-year. It should be noted that the operator’s half-year results also include its business in Belgium, with Partouche operating the Middelkerke casino since July 2022.
Partouche operates fewer establishments but generates just as much revenue
Currently, Groupe Partouche, which employs 3,900 people, manages and operates some 41 establishments. It is interesting to note that before the Covid-19 pandemic, in the first six months of the 2018-2019 fiscal year, the company generated sales of 222 million euros. At that time, however, the Group operated a total of 43 facilities, 2 more than today.
The key indicator for the French casino sector, the Gross gaming revenue (PBJ), shows that Partouche’s revenues are healthy. Indeed, the difference between players’ bets and winnings amounted to 169.1 million euros for Partouche in the second quarter of 2023, representing year-on-year growth of 14.1%. This indicator is higher than the national average of 13.7%, showing that Partouche is doing very well.
” There’s a kind of joviality, it’s great to see our customers smiling again. They’re happy to be able to play in our establishments again, or simply to have a good time over a drink or a good meal. “commented Fabrice Paire to Agence France Presse.
The Chairman of Groupe Partouche’s Management Board also declared that the Group’s NPC was 176 million euros (up 14.8%), which ” confirms the good momentum we’ve regained since the end of the Covid crisis”. “he adds.
