At least 10 injured in mass shooting at Illinois Emancipation Day party

At least 10 people have been injured, two in critical condition, by a shooting occurred this Sunday in a crowded street in Willowbrook, in the U.S. state of Illinois, where hundreds of people were commemorating the Emancipation Day holiday, Juneteenth, which takes place this coming Monday.
The incident took place at around 00.30 this Sunday, local time, and the victims were taken to four hospitals different ones, local fire chief Joe Ostrander has told Chicago’s ABC affiliate ABC7.
Approximately 200 to 300 people were in the middle of the street celebrating the holiday when they began to sound the shots no information has been obtained so far about the perpetrators.
“It was supposed to be like a June 16 celebration; we started hearing gunshots, so we went down until they stopped. They just kept going. After that, we literally scattered,” said Markeshia Avery, a witness to the shooting.
Police covered all entrances and remained at the scene to investigate what happened until 5.30.
