The victim had gone hiking with a friend to the ‘Marienbrücke’, a well-known bridge near the castle. There, the two women met a 30-year-old American who persuaded them to follow him to the castle. along a path leading to a lookout point.
After guiding the friends along the path, the man “physically assaulted” the 21-year-old girl.. The girl’s friend tried to help her and the assailant strangled her and pushed her down a slope.
