Dutch international De Ligt misses Nations League Finals due to calf injury

Matthijs de Ligt will miss the Nations League final tournament. The central defender employed by Bayern Munich suffered a calf injury during training for the Dutch national team on Saturday.
The KNVB has requested UEFA to transfer Daley Blind, who was already on the reserve list, to the selection of Oranje. Like De Ligt, Blind was under contract with Bayern Munich, but he hardly got any playing minutes last six months and will be active elsewhere after the summer.

Next Wednesday, the Netherlands will play the semifinals of third edition of the Nations League. The opponent in the Kuip is Croatia. Should the team of national coach Ronald Koeman win, Spain or Italy awaits in the final on Sunday in the same stadium.
