Ajax agree to suspend Berghuis after punching towards Twente supporter

NOS Soccer–
Ajacied Steven Berghuis has accepted the KNVB’s settlement proposal for three duels suspension – one of which is conditional. He received the proposal following the slapping move he made toward a supporter after FC Twente-Ajax.
Because Berghuis also received his fifth yellow card of the season in that final round of Eredivisie play, he must remain sidelined for the first three league games after the summer.
Ajax’s club management fined Berghuis for the incident at the players’ bus, in which Berghuis allegedly reacted to a racist remark made toward teammate Brian Brobbey, according to Twente regional newspaper Tubantia.
Berghuis apologized for his action – “I shouldn’t have done this”- but made a side note. “After every away game we get a lot of curses thrown at us at the bus, while we make time to hand out autographs to fans who ask for them. I’m used to a bit by now, but people think they can just shout anything.”
