Teenager who was shot in the head after mistakenly knocking on a neighbor’s door is out of the hospital

The 17-year-old boy shot a few weeks ago in Kansas, United States, has been released from the hospital on Wednesday. The minor was shot in the head by an 84-year-old neighbor. when he went to the wrong house to pick up his siblings.

The first thing he has done after being discharged has been to walk to raise awareness of the brain injuries caused by the gunshots. The young man is in good healthalthough he suffers from migraines, balance problems and trauma from the shooting.

According to the CNNAndrew Lester, the gunman, was in bed when the young man knocked on his door. Lester told police that, upon hearing the doorbell, he grabbed his revolver and headed for the doorway.. At the door of his house he saw “a black man about six feet tall pulling on the handle of the outside storm door.”

The perpetrator of the shooting claims that he thought he “someone was trying to break into his house“and so he fired two shots. He then called the emergency services. However, the young man declared to the police during his hospitalization that he did not pull the door at any time.

On the night of the shooting, the man was taken into custody, but was released two hours later because the police recognized that further investigative work was necessary. Lester is currently prohibited from possessing weapons or having any contact with the young man or his family.

The shooting of the teenager was seen as a racist assault and quickly sparked outrage on social media and protests in Kansas city. Protesters marched through the streets chanting “Justice for Ralph” and calling for the arrest of the shooter.
