Routiners Van de Sanden and Van Es notable names in World Cup pre-selection Oranje

NOS Soccer–
National coach Andries Jonker has included 30 players in his preliminary squad for next summer’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The most notable name is Shanice van de Sanden, who returns to the Orange after an absence.
The 30-year-old Liverpool winger played the last of her 93 international matches in November 2021. Seven players still have to drop out of the preliminary squad.
Kika van Es is also in the preliminary squad. The left back of PSV announced earlier this month that she will stop playing soccer after the summer. Due to a pregnancy, she assumed she would miss the World Cup, but Van Es suffered a miscarriage.
Orange all-time top scorer Vivianne Miedema is missing from the pre-selection as is well known. The Arsenal striker is struggling with a serious knee injury.
The 30 players will meet in Zeist on June 19 for the start of the training camp. On June 30, Jonker must submit the final selection to FIFA.
Between the club season and the start of World Cup preparations, the players get three weeks off.
