FC Twente investigates possible fan misconduct against Ajax striker Brobbey

NOS Soccer–
FC Twente has not yet completed its investigation into possible racist behavior toward Ajax player Brian Brobbey after Sunday’s league match in Enschede. The club is still analyzing video footage and expects to know on Thursday whether a culprit is in the picture.
Ajax player Steven Berghuis after the 3-1 away defeat slapped a Twente fan who allegedly made racist remarks to striker Brobbey near the players’ bus. Berghuis has been fined by Ajax because of that action and has also since expressed regret.
The police will not say whether there are charges against Berghuis or the supporter. Nor do they say they know who the soccer fan is.
The KNVB does not yet know whether the soccer association can take action against Berghuis for his misconduct. “It happened outside the stadium, but then again it is about soccer,” a spokesman explained the ambiguity. The association expects to provide more clarity next week.
