The Witcher, Season 5 of Netflix TV series confirmed

The release of the third season of the TV series by The Witcher tagged Netflix, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t already think about the future.

We have known since last year that the fourth season of the adaptation of the classic fantasy novels will see Liam Hemsworth take the role of Geralt of Rivia in place of the iconic Henry Cavill. Recently showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said she looks forward to seeing how Hemsworth will fare as Geralt, a comment that hinted at a possible continuation beyond Season 4.

Now, in an interview with the Deadline website, Sophie Holland, casting director for the project, has revealed that a fifth season of The Witcher will happen. “We are about to start filming Season 4 with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short break and then we will go straight into Season 5,” she said.

It is no surprise to find out that Netflix wants to keep The Witcher going as long as possible, as the series has been a hit since the first season. Since then, Netflix has also released spinoffs such as the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin.

The third season of The Witcher will begin on Netflix on June 29.
