Far-right leader sentenced to 18 years in jail for Capitol assault

The founder of the ultra-right-wing group Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes, has been sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison for leading the conspiracy to try to keep former U.S. President Donald Trump in power.

It is about the strongest sentence ever handed down against a defendant charged in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
