Second goalkeeper Pasveer (39) extends contract at Ajax by one year

NOS Soccer–
Ajax and Remko Pasveer have reached an agreement to extend his contract, which ran until June 30, 2023. The 39-year-old goalkeeper’s commitment has been extended by one year and now runs until June 30, 2024.
Pasveer began his career at FC Twente, after which he stood under the crossbar at Heracles Almelo, PSV and Vitesse, among others. On April 23, 2021 he made a transfer from Vitesse to Ajax. In Amsterdam he signed for two seasons.
Pasveer became base goalkeeper last season quite unexpectedly, took the national title and also played everything in the first half of this season. Under national coach Louis van Gaal, Pasveer was allowed to make his debut with the Oranje in the last international games before the World Cup in Qatar. Between those internationals and the World Cup, Pasveer suddenly made an uncertain impression at Ajax.
During the World Cup, Van Gaal preferred Andries Noppert under the crossbar at Oranje and Pasveer remained on the bench. Ajax bought Argentine Gerónimo Rulli shortly after the World Cup, who became the third goalkeeper with Argentina and became world champion. Since then, Pasveer has also lost his starting place at Ajax.
