Mats Seuntjens is continuing his career at FC Utrecht. Subject to passing the medical examination, the attacking midfielder will sign a contract for two seasons at his new club.

The 31-year-old Seuntjens could be picked up transfer-free, after a short but notable stay at RKC Waalwijk.

Seuntjens played only a short half-year in North Brabant. He had his contract with Fortuna Sittard dissolved during this term, after which he decided to finish the season close to home in Waalwijk. Especially also to assist his sick brother Ralf, who overcame lymphoma.

So a few days after Ralf’s emotional return to his Japanese club FC Imabari, there is now also great news for the three years younger Mats.

European soccer

With four goals and eight assists, Seuntjens is one of the big standouts at RKC, which is still very much in the fight for European soccer. However, while the season is still in progress, the success team is already being dismantled for the new season.

Saïd Bakari and Pelle Clement go to Sparta and Joseph Oosting becomes the new coach of FC Twente. Seuntjens is the second summer acquisition for FC Utrecht, after Souffian El Karouani, acquired from NEC.
