Lucia Forseth’s life-changing stroke of luck

An American woman’s life has completely changed: after six years without a roof over her head, Lucia Forseth has won five million dollars after scratching a California lottery ticket.

The lucky break came when Forseth went to a Walmart in Pittsburg, northeast of Oakland, for an oil change. At that point he decided to buy a lottery ticket, but little did he know at the time that he was in for a million-dollar prize.

“I only bought one ticket,” noted the lucky lady according to a California Lottery press release. “I closed my eyes and picked that one, and it won. At first I thought I had won a free ticket, but I checked and it said I had won $5 million,” he admitted.

“You never think you have a chance of winning it, it’s just random,” added Lucia, who has been the third winner of the award of the Californian scratch card called ‘2023’ so far this year, of which there are still two $5 million tickets remaining.

The odds of winning this game are 1 in 3,088,854, according to the California Lottery. Thanks to this pleasant chance, the winner will be able to. buy a house and invest the rest of the money in a new home.Six years ago I didn’t have a house. This year I’m getting married, graduating and earning $5 million. I never thought it would happen to someone like me.”

“Hearing a success story like this one demonstrates the positive impact that our games have on both winners and schools,” said Carolyn Becker, spokesperson for the California Lottery.
