Barcelona women head to Eindhoven for third consecutive Champions League final

NOS Football–
FC Barcelona women have reached the final of the Champions League for the third consecutive time. In a Camp Nou well-filled with 72,000 spectators, Barça played a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, which was enough to advance after last week’s 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge. The final will be played in Eindhoven on June 3.
It was one-way traffic in the first half. The Catalan women played Chelsea off the mat and created several opportunities, although not one of the nine goal attempts ended up between the posts. A goal by Caroline Graham Hansen was disallowed due to hands and after a shot by the Norwegian was blocked, Asisat Oshoala missed a great opportunity.

Chelsea showed only then that they could hurt Barcelona. Guro Reiten equalized in the 67th minute and Chelsea even had opportunities for the 2-1, which would have required an extension. It didn’t come to that. Barcelona was able to celebrate its third final in a row and fourth in five seasons.
Last year Barcelona lost the final to Olympique Lyonnais (3-1), two years ago the Catalans were too strong for Chelsea in the final match 4-0. Opponent in the final will be the winner of the game between Arsenal and VfL Wolfsburg on Monday in London. The outward game ended 2-2.
