Napoli took a step toward their first title in 33 years with a 1-0 win at Juventus. The Turin club, which regained the 15 points it had been forced to surrender because of financial malfeasance, remains third.

The more agile Napoli pinned Juventus right away. That stood like a house defensively and countered through Juan Cuadrado and Arkadiusz Milik even made the first attempts. The best chance was for Napoli: Hirving Lozano went for his own success and “forgot” the free Khvicha Kvaratschelia.

Napoli kept making wrong choices in the final pass, although Victor Osimhen was twice close to the 0-1. Juve also got color with Federico Chiesa and Angel Di Mariá. Both scored, but not regulation. Giacomo Raspadori’s late goal (three minutes into injury time) was uncontested.

Title almost a reality

The Italian national title for Napoli becomes a reality if the club wins next week’s home game at Salernitana and number two Lazio loses or draws at Internazionale.
