The number of countries to which it is possible to travel with a Spanish passport without a visa

Spanish and German passports are the strongest in Europe in allowing travelers access to 191 destinations without a prior visa, according to the latest results of the Henley Passport Index, from Henley & Partners.

In terms of overall scope, both passports occupy the. third position with 191 pointsone point for each destination to which you can travel without a visa.

Japan and Singapore, the first in the world

First place goes to Japan and Singapore, with free access to 193 destinations each, while. South Korea occupy second place, with access to 192 destinations. The remaining countries in the top 10 are dominated by members of the European Union.


Airport tourism

Thus, Finland, Italy and Luxembourg closely follow Spain and Germany in fourth place, with 190 destinations, and Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria share fifth place, as their passport holders can travel to 189 destinations worldwide without a visa.

In addition, the United Kingdom along with France, Ireland and Portugal rank sixth, respectively. Outside Europe, major countries such as the United States and Australia rank in shared seventh and eighth place along with other European countries, respectively.

Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, the latest

Below the ranking, Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria are at the bottom of the index, as they can access less than 30 destinations worldwide without a visa.

On the other hand, unique research by Henley & Partners comparing a country’s visa-free access with its Global Peace Index score shows a strong correlation between a nation’s passport power and its peace.

Therefore, any country that ranks in the top ten of the Henley Passport Index can also be found in the top ten of the Global Peace Index.
