After run of thirty duels without defeat, Wiegmans England loses to Australia

NOS Soccer–
National coach Sarina Wiegman’s England women’s team has been defeated after thirty games without defeat. Australia surprised the Lionesses in a practice match, ending an unprecedented unbeaten streak.
Wiegman led England’s squad to the European title at last year’s European Championships at home and was named the world’s best coach of a women’s team for the third time.
Sam Kerr and Charlotte Grant scored the goals at Brentford Stadium for Australia, which will co-host the World Championship next summer with New Zealand.
England won 25 matches under Wiegman, regularly by big scores, and played five draws. England’s last defeat was in April 2021, in a practice match against Canada (0-2).
Recently Wiegman won with England the first-ever “Finalissima” (match between the champions of Europe and South America) in the history of women’s soccer. At a sold-out Wembley, over 83,000 spectators, Brazil was beaten after penalties after a 1-1 final score.
