Managing director Van Wijk leaves Vitesse, Rovers takes honors

NOS Football–
General manager Pascal van Wijk is leaving Vitesse for good. He had been missing for the past few weeks after calling in sick at the club that is only just above the relegation zone in the premier league. “It is difficult to say goodbye, but the interests of Vitesse come first,” Van Wijk announced in a press release.
“My four years as general manager have been eventful and challenging. In particular, the past few months have been intense,” Van Wijk refers to the perils surrounding the stadium rental fee, among other things. In addition, the Arnhemers are still waiting for approval from the KNVB for the takeover of the club by the Common Group, Coley Parry’s American investment company.
Van Wijk, who has been involved in the ins and outs of Vitesse for a total of nineteen years, will be replaced by Peter Rovers for the time being. The commercial director already took over Van Wijk’s duties two weeks ago.
