Chelsea fires coach Potter, seven months after firing Tuchel

NOS Football–
Chelsea have sacked coach Graham Potter. The decision follows Saturday’s 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa in the Premier League. The 47-year-old Potter had only been working for Chelsea since last September, which is in a disappointing 11th place in the league.
Assistant Bruno Saltor will take over Potter’s duties for the time being. Seven months ago, Chelsea already fired coach Thomas Tuchel, now coach of Bayern Munich. That was a day after a 1-0 defeat in the Champions League at Dinamo Zagreb. At the time, the club was sixth in the Premier League.
Success manager of Brighton & Hove Albion
Chelsea reached deep into their pockets last September to release Potter from Brighton & Hove Albion. The club reportedly laid down 18 million euros for the Englishman, who was successful at Brighton. At Chelsea, Potter, who had signed for five years, began his first job as head coach at a top club.
Despite those investments, things did not go smoothly with Potter at Chelsea either. The coach was widely criticized and even received several death threats online.
