Dramatic moment when a coyote attacks a 21-month-old boy in front of his home

A 21-month-old child was injured after being attacked by a coyote at the entrance of his home in Arizona (United States), an event that was recorded by the home’s security cameras.

The images show how the mother, Kelly Pirozzi, arrives at the house, followed by her son. The mother is lost for a few moments and suddenly, with speed, but with stealth, the coyote appears to attack the little boy.

The attack is seen just out of shot, but the screams and shadows warn of what is happening. The mother was able to react quickly and chase the animal away as it grabbed her son’s arm.

The attack comes just three days after a coyote attacked a child near a schoolyard just half a mile from the house. The boy had “scratch marks on his stomach.” according to Darren Julian, an Arizona state urban wildlife specialist, who believes the attacks are related to the same coyote.

Julian said the recent attacks are unusual, as there have been none in the Phoenix area since 2017. However, he cautioned parents to remain “very vigilant.” even in their own gardens.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department said in a statement that this. “coyote shows little fear of people. And may have been illegally fed in the past.”

Police have told people who live in the areas that keep their pets indoors with coyotes who are known to prey on cats, dogs or other smaller animals.
