Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo has recovered from a viral infection in time after all and is back in the Dutch national team’s squad ahead of Monday’s European Cup qualifier with Gibraltar.

Gakpo, Matthijs de Ligt, Bart Verbruggen, Sven Botman and Joey Veerman left the Oranje training camp with stomach flu on Thursday.

They missed Friday’s hopelessly lost game with France (4-0). De Ligt and Verbruggen already returned to the Dutch team on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, 24 players were on the training pitch in Zeist, including Gakpo.

Dumfries also available

National coach Ronald Koeman can also call on right back Denzel Dumfries again against Gibraltar, who was missing against the French due to a suspension.

By contrast, Lutsharel Geertruida (injury) and Stefan de Vrij (imminent family enlargement) will miss Monday’s encounter.
