‘After rvc chairman, now general manager Van Wijk also leaves Vitesse’

Pascal van Wijk is leaving as general manager at Vitesse, report De Gelderlander and Omroep Gelderland. Earlier this month, supervisory board chairman Henk Parren also resigned from his duties at Vitesse.
Van Wijk is said to have officially called in sick at Vitesse. This means that he cannot formally be dismissed, should the supervisory board wish to do so. There is only one person left on Vitesse’s rvc: Russian Andrey Soloviev.
Vitesse is in the midst of a considerable crisis, triggered by a lingering conflict over renting Gelredome stadium.
Professional license in jeopardy
The Arnhem club terminated its lease of the Gelredome in the fall of 2018 and became in conflict with stadium owner Michael van de Kuit. A new lease is still not in place.
Without a playable stadium, Vitesse’s pro license is in jeopardy. Vitesse and Van der Kuit are still in talks about settling the “stadium issue.
With American Coley Parry of the Common Group, Vitesse found a new owner in September, which the club was looking for after the departure of Russian Valery Oyf. The KNVB has yet to approve the takeover.
