FC Utrecht commemorates 2019 streetcar attack in home match with Go Ahead Eagles

NOS Football–
FC Utrecht will commemorate the victims of the streetcar attack in Utrecht on Saturday around the home match with Go Ahead Eagles. It will then be four years since four people were killed and six wounded in a shooting in and around a streetcar on the 24 Oktoberplein.
As the players enter the field in the Galgenwaard stadium, the supporters’ associations hold an atmospheric action marked by the attack. This is followed by a minute’s silence in memory of the victims.
The aid workers involved are not forgotten either. A standing ovation is scheduled for them in the eighteenth minute.
FC Utrecht calls on “all those present to show their respect” during the commemoration.
This is not the first time FC Utrecht has commemorated the attack. During a silent march a few days after the shooting, fans made an impression with a banner bearing the text “Utreg never bows. This message came back more often later.
In 2019, before a match against Feyenoord, the club also paid extensive attention to the fatal shooting. A torch burned for each victim, the song Amazing Grace was sung, and even then the stadium remained silent for a minute.
