The Last of Us, ratings for 8.1 million viewers for eighth episode of TV series

Between Sunday and Monday, the eighth episode of the TV series of The Last of Us, which set a new record for ratings.

As reported by Variety citing numbers from Warner Bros. Discovery, episode 8 of The Last of Us had 8.1 million viewers during its first broadcast alone. This is the most-watched episode at the time, surpassing Episode 3 which had debuted with 6.4 million viewers and Episode 4 with 7.5 million viewers (there are no audience figures available for Episodes 5-7).

These figures refer to a combination of ratings on HBO (cable TV) and streaming on HBO Max. The 8.1 million viewers who watched episode 8 of The Last of Us, titled “When We Are In Need,” contributed to a 74 percent increase over the ratings of the series’ first episode, which drew an audience of 4.7 million.

The Last of Us TV series airs weekly on Sky and Now TV in Italy, with each new episode available on Sunday night and Monday night. A second season is coming soon.
