Self-help guru Marianne Williamson to face Biden in Democratic primary

The author of self-help books Marianne Williamson announced this Thursday that he will seek to take on U.S. President Joe Bidenfor the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election.

Although Biden has not yet officially announced his candidacy, has intimated on several occasions that he will stand for re-election.and the media expect him to launch his campaign soon.

With his announcement, Williamson becomes the first progressive politician to announce her intentions. to run for the U.S. presidency and the second overall, after former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) announced last November that he will seek re-election in 2024.

The self-help guru already vied in 2019 for the Democratic nomination for the 2020 presidential election, but withdrew before the vote due to lack of support from the electorate, despite the fact that her interventions in the initial debates went viral.

Williamson was one of the most progressive candidatesideologically closer to the Senators Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren than Biden himself.
