Portugal completes Orange’s group at next summer’s world championships

NOS Soccer–
Portugal has qualified for the Women’s World Cup and will face Orange in the group stage. It was previously known that the Netherlands was assigned to the group stage with Vietnam and reigning world champion United States
In New Zealand, together with Australia host country of the upcoming World Cup, Portugal won 2-1 against Cameroon in the playoffs. In the other bar match, Haiti secured the final round by winning against Chile by the same figures.
Portugal is making its debut at the World Cup, but had already competed at the European Championships. Last summer, the country also opposed the Orange in the group stage. Daniëlle van de Donk then popped a Netherlands plagued by injuries and corona to victory (3-2) in the second group match.
At the European Championship last summer, the Netherlands was still 3-2 too strong for Portugal:

At the upcoming World Cup, the Netherlands will probably not show up in its strongest lineup either, as it is virtually impossible that all-time top scorer Vivianne Miedema will have recovered by then after her serious knee injury.
The Orange practiced against Austria twice this week, with varying degrees of success. After a 2-1 defeat, revenge was taken on Tuesday with a 4-0 victory.
Also this season we follow the soccer players of Orange with “In het spoor van Oranje”. Wednesday afternoon the new episode will appear on NOS.nl, in the NOS app and on our YouTube channel. Watch last weekend’s episode here.
