Spanish league leader FC Barcelona did not slip up at Camp Nou against lowly Cadiz. Barça won convincingly 2-0.

Frenkie de Jong’s team is still unbeaten in 2023 and has an eight-point lead over number two Real Madrid.

Robert Lewandowski celebrates his goal against Cadiz

The first half played out mostly in the half of Cadiz, which had particularly no answer to the agile Ferran Torres. Just before halftime, that superiority gave Barcelona a lead.

Lewandowski ends series

The 1-0 was largely due to Torres, who passed three men with a great dribble and found Robert Lewandowski with his cross. The Pole’s header was turned on the line by a defender, but from the rebound Sergi Roberto fired in.

A few minutes later, Lewandowski did score. He had not scored in Camp Nou for six home games in a row, since Oct. 23, but now he made it 2-0 on a pass from Roberto from the edge of the sixteen.

After halftime, the home side took it easy and it was just as well that Marc-André ter Stegen was alert to a chance for Emeterio. The German goalkeeper tapped the ball against the post and thus kept the zero.
