Borderlands, some scenes from the film will be re-shot by Tim Miller, not Eli Roth

Rumors spread around the web last week that the Eli Roth would be replaced by Deadpool director Tim Miller as director of the live-action film of Borderlands. This led to widespread speculation that Roth would be fired from his role, although, as Deadline reveals, things turned out differently.
According to the reliable site, Miller will be re-shooting some scenes for a couple of weeks while Roth is busy with Thanksgiving, a new horror film he has conceived himself. Deadline says that the handover was completely amicable and that Roth was not in any way fired by the film’s staff.
The Borderlands live-action film was originally supposed to be released in 2022, but last year we heard nothing about it at all. The last update we received on the production was in June 2021, when Gearbox had announced that filming for the movie had ended.
Borderlands is directed by Eli Roth and has a cast that includes names such as Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, and others. The film’s story centers on Lilith, played by Blanchett, who returns to Pandora to find Atlas’ (Edgar Ramirez) missing daughter. With a mysterious past and an attitude that could put fear into anyone, Lilith must team up with a band of misfits from the Gearbox franchise to undertake this mission and defeat some of the biggest villains she will encounter.
