The Last of Us, Season 2 of HBO TV series confirmed

It was news we all expected to hear sooner or later, though perhaps not so soon: just days after the broadcast of the third episode, Naughty Dog and HBO announced that the TV series of The Last of Us Will receive a second season soon.

The announcement of the second season of The Last of Us comes at the same time as an update on the number of views of the series’ first installment, which has now surpassed 22 million. The apocalyptic drama starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie respectively was an instant hit, loved by critics and audiences alike.

“I’m proud, honored, and frankly overwhelmed that so many people tuned in and connected with our tale of Joel and Ellie’s journey,” executive producer Neil Druckmann told The Hollywood Reporter. “The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast and crew, and HBO has exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with the second season!”

“I am very grateful to Neil Druckmann and HBO for our collaboration, and I am even more grateful to the millions of people who have joined us on this journey,” Mazin said. “The audience has given us the opportunity to move forward, and as a fan of the characters and the world that Neil and Naughty Dog have created, I couldn’t be more ready to dive in again.”

The Last of Us TV series airs weekly on Sky and Now TV in Italy, with each new episode available on Sunday night and Monday night. The first two episodes are already available for viewing, with the second being even more of a hit than the first (viewable for free on YouTube). The third episode, however, will arrive this weekend.
