ID’s O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy focuses on Nicole Brown Simpson’s voice through her diary excerpts. Countless videos, documentaries, series, and miniseries have told the true-crime tale about the murder of O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson. But few have focused on telling the story from Nicole Brown Simpson’s perspective.
In commemorating the 25th anniversary of the verdict in the trial of the century, O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy peels back the layers of her diary, exposing her innermost thoughts. Her family has always said Nicole was an abused woman who left her marriage but lost her life in the process.
ID (Investigation Discovery) producers saw an opportunity to bring her voice forward in an unforgettable way.
“Hundreds of hours of documentaries, films and TV shows have covered what came to be known as “The Trial of the Century.” [And] heard the details of the evidence, and saw the brutality of the crime scene. But [] one important voice was lost in the press maelstrom: the story of Nicole Brown Simpson. Surrounding the 25th anniversary of the verdict that rocked the nation, ID will rewrite this infamous story with a new perspective. ”
Nicole Brown Simpson’s family and friends will help tell her tragic domestic violence story through firsthand accounts. The point of the show is not to remember the details of her violent death, but to remember the woman,” ID states.
