Gelareh Bagherzadeh, Ali Irsan: Watch ‘Dateline’ ‘Deliberate Evil’–Iranian Honor Killing

Gelareh Bagherzadeh, Ali Irsan on Dateline episode “Deliberate Evil”: Gelareh Bagherzadeh’s Iranian honor killing will be covered in an all-new Dateline. Gelareh Bagherzadeh was found dead in January of 2012 in Houston, Texas after a friend reported hearing Gelareh Bagherzadeh’s screams through the cellphone. Neighbors also called 911 to report hearing three gunshots and screeching tires. When Houston police arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound to the head, and her car window shattered.

Gelareh Bagherzadeh’s shooting death went cold until her boyfriend’s twin brother, Coty Beaver, was also found murdered. The mystery led police to two suspects that were closer to home than they believed: Nasim Irsan and Ali Irsan, two Jordan immigrants. Ali Irsan was an evil man who sought to uphold his Muslim beliefs by any means necessary. Nasim Irsan pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Ali Irsan was convicted and given the death penalty. Josh Mankiewicz brings you the family feud that led to these mysterious deaths.
