Kat Dawn West: ‘Date Night’ Nightmare, Hubby Used Liquor Bottle To Kill Wife

Kat Dawn West, a suburban Calera, Alabama mother who was found dead last month outside her home, died of blunt force trauma. In a document obtained by TV Crime Sky‘s Traciy Curry-Reyes, Jeff West, aka William Jeffrey West, bashed his wife in the head with a Lucid Absinthe liquor bottle.

Last month, TV Crime Sky reported a woman’s body was found outside her home around 5 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, by a teen neighbor, who was on her way to work. The young lady, who was startled and upset by the find, ran to tell her father, who later came outside to see if the woman was still alive.

The document obtained by TV Crime Sky indicates Kat Dawn West received a blow to the head on or about Friday, January 12. It isn’t clear if Kat West died inside her home and was taken outside or if she ran outside after she was hit with the bottle.

Police arrived on the scene at 152 Greenwood Circle in Calera, Alabama, where they found Kat West, 44, on the ground with a bleeding wound to the head. Nearby, according Al., someone had strategically placed a wine bottle on top of Kat West’s cell phone as if sending some sort of message.

Neighbors present at the scene when police arrived told AL Jeff West threw his cigarette on the ground and strolled back inside his house after police told him his wife was deadThose who knew Jeff West, the alleged killer, said he also didn’t seem to care about the sexy photos she placed online. The couple’s 12-year-old daughter was not at home on the night of the murder.

Kat West’s Calera murder case sparked national attention when suggestive photos of the suburban mom in revealing clothing surfaced online with a link to a subscription website. News sites have referred to Kat West as an “exhibitionist” and an online model. West took many selfies and posted them on all of her social media accounts.

Inside Edition said footage obtained from the R and R Liquor Store, where Kat West was last seen alive with Jeff West aided the police in their investigation. In the video, the couple appeared happy and in love, but in an eerie turn of events, something terrible erupted between the time the video was captured and the time she was found outside her house, wearing only a bra.

A fake Facebook profile left two lewd comments on TV Crime Sky‘s site about the dead mother in the weeks after her death. Kathleen ‘Kat’ West was called ugly names, and it was said she got what she deserved. There was a lot of anger, which is why they were allowed to remain on the site in case police wanted to trace the commenter’s identity.

Documents obtained by TV Crime Sky show that a bottle of Lucid Absinthe was used as the murder weapon to kill Kat West.

Calera Police Department told TV Crime Sky that William Jeffrey West was picked up at his residence on Thursday, February 22, shortly after 8 a.m., and booked into the Calera County Jail for a charge of murder before he was turned over to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department at 9 a.m. the same morning. He is being held on $500,000 bond. A press conference was held yesterday at 11:00 a.m.

Investigators told AL they know exactly what happened that night but have declined to specify what led up to the fatal event. Online sleuths believed the seedy world of online exhibitionism might have played a role in her death. Most suspected her husband had something to do with it.

Aside from taking selfies, Kat West enjoyed working out at Fit 24’s gym and being a mother to her daughter with whom she had a close relationship. Sadly, her daughter is now left without both parents.

Kat West’s death at the hands of her husband, Jeff West, brings up issues of domestic violence in households. Usually, when a husband kills his wife, there is a history of domestic violence and abuse, even if family members or close friends are unaware.

TV Crime Sky found out what happened to Kat West’s body after she left the medical examiner’s office here.
