Datondra Mitchell, Carzella Little: Gay Clopton Street Female Couple Leaves One Dead In Alabama Domestic Abuse Case

Datondra Mitchell, also known as Datondra Anjanine Villia Mitchell, has been arrested for the murder of her lover Carzella Little, 20. Authorities say the incident took place on August 26, at the couple’s Clopton Street apartment, where they found the woman dead. The fatal incident was reported hours after neighbors remembered hearing commotion in the area, according to WHNT-19. Up until today, Huntsville, Alabama investigators hadn’t released the name of the victim.

Authorities believe Datondra Mitchell, 25, knew her lover, Carzella Little, was dead in the apartment but failed to report it until nine hours later. And even then, she only indicated that the woman had been hurt. It wasn’t until detectives pulled up to the Clopton Street SW address at the Holiday Apartments that they discovered the truth.

It is believed the fatal shooting was due to a domestic incident that had occurred between the women, who were also roommates and lovers. Jail records show that Datondra Mitchell (Datondra Anjanine Villia Mitchell) has a criminal record, which includes various arrests for domestic abuse, harassment, and resisting arrest.

This person appears to be the same Datondra Mitchell who was involved in an accident when she was a small child. In that case, which happened in 2004 in Chicago, Illinois, Datondra Mitchell, 11, was walking to a store with Gregory Jones, 8, when they were struck by a cop’s car. Gregory died. Datondra Mitchell lived but has had problems ever since. The story made headlines in the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Reader.

Records show Datondra Mitchell, who has also used the alias Anjanine Witcher, Deiondra Anjani Villa Mitchell, and Deiondra Anjani Villia Mitchell has previous addresses in Chicago, Illinois, Madison, Alabama, and most recently, Huntsville, Alabama. According to Datondra’s LinkedIn page, she attended Virginia College in Huntsville at one time.
