Tom Wopat Arrested: For Alleged Female Assault, Possession During ’42nd Street’ Production


Dukes of Hazzard star, Tom Wopat, was arrested and charged with assault and possession. Authorities say Tom Wopat allegedly assaulted a female while performing in a Waltham, Massachusetts play ’42nd Street.’ The female victim is connected to the production, sources say. WCVBS-5 reports the assault was ‘indecent’ in nature.


According to TMZ, The former The Dukes of Hazzard celebrity was arrested Wednesday night. When police finally found him after searching for him, he was in possession of an illegal substance.



This isn’t Tom Wopat’s first brush with the law. Records show the star was arrested in 2006 in New Jersey for driving under the influence. In that incident, witnesses say Tom Wopat was speeding and almost hit a police cruiser.


Tom Wopat played the role of handsome Luke Duke in the popular The Dukes of Hazzard TV sitcom. Since then, he has appeared in Broadway cabaret shows.
