Investigation Discovery’s ‘Son Of Sam’ Crime Documentary Revisits David Berkowitz Case


Investigation Discovery revisits the crimes of David Berkowitz in a compelling new documentary Son of Sam: The Hunt For a Killer. The two-hour special celebrates the manhunt and capture of one of America’s most notorious killers. David Berkowitz terrorized the city of New York in the 1970s as he targeted and killed six youths and badly injured seven more during a shooting spree.


Son of Sam: The Hunt for a Killer will lay out the case by bringing you crime archival footage and first-person testimonies from those who lived through it.


Expect to hear from survivors: Robert Violante and Carl Denaro. Son of Sam: The Hunt For a Killer will also tell the stories of law enforcement detectives and crime reporters.


The New York Media and New York City police detectives were instrumental in bringing David Berkowitz out of the shadows and finally to justice.

Son of Sam: The Hunt For a Killer is produced by Cream Productions and Absinthe Film Entertainment, according to Investigation Discovery’s press release. Executive producers are Kate Harrison, David Brady, and Richard Curson Smith, and Max Culhane.
