Matt Baker’s true story is coming to Investigation Discovery in the documentary Killer Clergy. Matt Baker is the preacher who killed his wife, Kari Baker, and tried to trick everyone into thinking that it was a suicide, ABC News stated. The documentary focuses on cases of murder that happens among church members.

Killer Clergy Episode Title: “Eternal Sleep”

When a preacher’s wife dies, everyone assumes that it was a suicide death. But angry family members believe that her husband, a beloved preacher in his congregation, may know more about his wife’s death than he is leading on.

Here is the official tease from TWC Central

“Baptist minister Matt Baker appears grief-stricken after his wife, Kari, commits suicide, but her family members are suspicious, and they launch an investigation to expose the duplicitous preacher.”

Killer Clergy airs this Friday, September 8, at 10/9 p.m. on Investigation Discovery.

Kind of interesting. Production should have researched a bit more as Baptists use the empty cross and don’t use the crucifix. A Southern Baptist preacher would not wear a clerical collar. Details – correct details – really help a story.
